Mme. Schtroumpf Bio

Madame Schtroumpf, a.k.a Ann Bayliss, finds more joy in a world that embraces more languages.

She learned French through the efforts of many respected teachers, among them Mrs. Roberts, Mrs. Robertson, and Mr. Kannemeyer at Saint Catherine's School.

At Vassar College, she majored in French Literature and obtained a teaching position offered by France's National Education Ministry.

The regional educational administration in Lorraine arranged for her to assist the English department at Collège Jules Ferry (Jules Ferry Junior High) in Woippy.

She lived for that year with three other Assistant Teachers (German, Italian, and English) in Metz at a public boarding school that prepared students for the Baccalauréat.

Madame holds an M.A. in French Language and Culture from the University of Maryland.

She loves all aspects of teaching, especially the moment when a student understands a concept for the first time.
